How to Join NUPIT

Statement of Eligibility For Membership of NUPIT
All applicants to NUPIT should:
1. Hold a recognised interpreting or translating degree or the equivalent
or2. Be on an approved list of translators/interpreters (e.g. IOL, ITI, IAA, Home Office etc).
All applicants must be prepared to:
- Name two referees
- Supply copies of qualifications
- A declaration that the applicant is primarily a work recipient and works on his or her own behalf.
The executive committee is empowered to seek evidence periodically to ensure the continued eligibility of any member.
Your membership is most important to us.
More members mean a stronger union and a more effective voice.
Please ensure that you send a copy of your completed application form to NUPIT. Print two copies when you join online: one for your own records; and one to send to the NUPIT branch at:

The NUPIT Online Database
As a member of NUPIT you may qualify to have your details displayed the website. For this, we would ask you to fill in the form entitled "Information for NUPIT Database". You can see the form by clicking on the button below.
For each language you wish to be listed you either have to have full status on the National Register (most recent abstract as proof must be supplied) or an equivalent relevant degree in respect of each language. Please send these qualifications in with this form.
Don’t forget to send copy of your current NRPSI abstract or certificates/diplomas for each of the languages you wish to go on the website database.
